A little bit about me
I'm 20 year old rider based in East Sussex. I'm in my third year of British Eventing having previously competed at Pony Club and Riding Club level for several years. I was really thrilled to be in the top five in my first ever three BE events on my horse Carnaval Pop and qualify for the BE100u18 Championships at Weston Park in 2013, especially as Pop had never done BE before. Even more thrilled that in 2014 Pop and I qualified for Weston Park again and also managed three top five placings (including a win) at BE100, and three top ten placings at BE Novice! And not forgetting a very exciting qualification for the Badminton Grass Roots 100 Final in May 2015! In the summer of 2013 I also started eventing my father's horse Alfie, (By George Its Better), starting with Pony Club and Riding Club competitions, then we did a couple of BE100s before attempting our first BE Novice at Firle, where he jumped a fantastic clear XC and came 8th! I finished the 2014 season by competing at the National Schools Championships (NSEA) where we had some fantastic results, going clear in the 1.15m show jumping helping the team to win the championship, and then clear again in the 1m jumping with style (arena eventing), with the team being reserve champions, and then 6th individually in the dressage!

Our horses are kept at home, as we have a field and stables behind our small terraced cottage. I do all of Pop's schooling myself, and most of the stable work and exercising. I finished my A levels in June 2014 and am now embarking on a gap year before starting university in September 2015. I am currently working part time exercising and schooling horses at a local yard, where there are a wide variety of horses ranging from eventers and point to pointers to Pony Club ponies! I am a keen member of Eridge Pony Club and have gained my Pony Club B+ and AH tests.
I must admit that my eventing career did not start in the most auspicious way, as in my first ever jumping lesson I fell off twice and this put me off leaving the ground for quite a long time. However, thanks to the Pony Club, hunting and some great instructors I finally conquered my fears and started doing some small one day events at Pony Club level, before working up to doing BE. I never had ready made eventing horses and ponies, though, so have had to work really hard to get the best out of the animals I've had.
